
Accursio Di Leo
Accursio Di Leo (Sant'Angelo Muxaro, March 5, 1917 – Palermo, June 7, 1997) was an Italian actor, a prominent figure in Sicilian theater, and a film and television performer. His career was primarily centered on the stage, where he became one of the most acclaimed leading actors, collaborating extensively with the Teatro Stabile di Catania and founding several companies. International fame came with cinema, thanks to his role as the young Totò's father in Giuseppe Tornatore's Oscar-winning film *Nuovo Cinema Paradiso* (1988). His collaboration with the director continued in other films such as *Stanno tutti bene* (1990) and *L'uomo delle stelle* (1995). His filmography also includes appearances in successful television productions, including the series *La Piovra*. Recognized for his intense acting ability and deep connection to the culture of his homeland, Di Leo is considered one of the most representative figures of Sicilian theater and cinema in the second half of the 20th century.
