Adriano Rimoldi
Adriano Rimoldi (La Spezia, 1912 – Rome, 1965) was an Italian actor whose career primarily spanned the late 1930s to the early 1950s. His fame is inextricably linked to the role of Gino Costa, the tormented protagonist in Luchino Visconti's *Ossessione* (1943), a film considered one of the manifestos of Neorealism. Before this iconic role, he had already distinguished himself in important works such as Alessandro Blasetti's *Quattro passi fra le nuvole* (1942). His career reached another peak with his intense performance in Vittorio De Sica's *I bambini ci guardano* (1944), where he embodied a modern, complex, and weak male figure. Gifted with a masculine charm and a naturalistic acting style, Rimoldi established himself as a key face of the cinema in transition between the "white telephone" period and the neorealist era. Although he did not receive any major official awards, his contribution to masterpieces that have marked the history of Italian cinema constitutes his greatest and most enduring critical recognition.
