Ait Ansari
Ait Ansari, the pseudonym of Hicham Gardaf, is a Moroccan artist born in Tangier in 1984. His artistic practice focuses primarily on photography, video, and installation, exploring the rapid urban transformations and social dynamics of contemporary Morocco. His work investigates the use of public space and the complex relationship between the visible and the invisible, with a particular focus on the landscape of his hometown, Tangier. Among his most significant works are the photographic series *Intersections* and *The Red Square*, in which he documents the impact of new architectural projects on daily life and the social fabric. His works have been exhibited in prestigious international institutions, including the Centre Pompidou in Paris, MACAAL in Marrakech, and the Venice Biennale. He has received major awards, such as the Photography Prize at the Rencontres de Bamako, Africa's most important photography biennial, which has consolidated his position on the international art scene.
