Alan Reed, born Herbert Theodore Bergman (New York, August 20, 1907 – Los Angeles, June 14, 1977), was an American actor and voice actor. His career began in the 1930s on radio, where he became a familiar voice on popular programs such as *The Fred Allen Show* and *Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar*. Simultaneously, he pursued a film and television career as a character actor, appearing in notable films such as *The Postman Always Rings Twice* (1946), *Viva Zapata!* (1952), and *Breakfast at Tiffany's* (1961). However, his greatest and most lasting recognition comes from his voice work. From 1960 to 1966, he lent his deep, distinctive voice to Fred Flintstone, the protagonist of the celebrated Hanna-Barbera animated series *The Flintstones* (known in Italy as *Gli Antenati*). Reed is credited with creating the iconic catchphrase "Yabba-Dabba-Doo!", which helped define the character. His portrayal solidified Fred Flintstone as one of the most beloved figures in animation history, ensuring Reed an immortal legacy in popular culture.
