
Alan Webb
Alan Webb, born on January 13, 1983, is a former American middle-distance runner, considered one of the greatest talents in the history of American track and field. He first gained fame in 2001 when, still a high school student, he set the national high school record in the mile with a time of 3:53.43, breaking Jim Ryun's long-standing record. After turning professional, he reached the peak of his career in 2007, when he set the current American record in the mile with a time of 3:46.91. His major accomplishments include three national titles in the 1500 meters and competing in the 2004 Athens Olympic Games. Throughout his career, he competed in various distances, from the mile to the 10,000 meters, before transitioning to professional triathlon in 2014, a discipline in which he competed for several years before his final retirement from competition.
