Alba Maiolini (Rome, 15 July 1916 – Rome, 1 March 2005) was an Italian actress, a noted character actress active in cinema for about fifty years, from the 1930s to the 1980s. Her career was distinguished by her portrayal of working-class roles, such as housekeepers, concierges, mothers, and neighbors, which she embodied with great naturalness. She worked with the most important directors of Neorealism and *Commedia all'italiana*, leaving her mark on masterpieces such as Vittorio De Sica's *Miracolo a Milano* (1951), in the role of the stern landlady, *Umberto D.* (1952), and *Guardie e ladri* (1951) by Steno and Monicelli. Her extensive filmography also includes appearances in iconic titles such as *I soliti ignoti* (1958) and *Il vedovo* (1959). Although she did not receive major film awards, her greatest recognition lies in having been a constant and indispensable presence, capable of lending depth and authenticity to countless productions, becoming a familiar and appreciated figure in Italian cinema.
