Aldo Bonamano
Aldo Bonamano (Varallo Sesia, 1934 – Vercelli, 2011) was an Italian journalist, writer, and historian, considered one of the most authoritative figures on the history of the Vercelli and Valsesia regions. For over forty years, he worked for the daily newspaper *La Stampa*, also as a special correspondent, covering news, culture, and sports. His work as a historian focused primarily on his native region, with particular attention to the period of the Partisan Resistance, which he chronicled with documentary rigor. His numerous works include the essays *Vercelli e provincia*, *Storia partigiana: la Valsesia*, and the novel *I giorni della Chimera*. For his journalistic and cultural contributions, he received important awards, including the prestigious Saint-Vincent Prize for Journalism and the title of "Vercellese of the Year" in 1984. His body of work represents a fundamental point of reference for the historical memory of northeastern Piedmont.
