
Aleksandr Chaban
Aleksandr Chaban, born in 1958 in the Krasnodar Krai, is a celebrated Russian choral and orchestral conductor. He completed his musical education at the Gnessin Musical College and the Moscow Conservatory, studying under the guidance of masters such as Vladimir Minin and Boris Tevlin. His career began with the Moscow Chamber Choir, later culminating in his appointment as artistic director and principal conductor of the prestigious A. A. Yurlov State Academic Capella of Russia. He has collaborated with major orchestras, including the Russian National Orchestra and the Evgeny Svetlanov State Academic Symphony Orchestra. His repertoire is known for his profound interpretations of Russian sacred music, particularly the works of Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, and Sviridov, and of large-scale cantata and oratorio forms. For his significant contribution to musical culture, he has been awarded the highest state honors, receiving the titles of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation and, subsequently, People's Artist of the Russian Federation.
