Alexander D'Arcy

Alexander D'Arcy, born Alexander Sarruf (Cairo, August 10, 1908 – West Hollywood, April 20, 1996), was an Egyptian-born American actor. He began his career in European cinema, primarily British and French, before moving to Hollywood in the 1930s. There, he specialized in roles as a charming and often unreliable continental aristocrat, appearing in successful films such as *The Prisoner of Zenda* (1937) and *The Awful Truth* (1937). His career continued with supporting roles in major productions, most notably in *How to Marry a Millionaire* (1953) alongside Marilyn Monroe. From the 1950s, his work focused more on B-movies and television productions, making him a familiar face in genre and cult cinema, such as in the film *Ein Toter hing im Netz* (1960). Although he did not win any major awards, he is recognized for his iconic screen presence and his contribution as a character actor during the Golden Age of Hollywood.
