Alexander Knox (Strathroy, January 16, 1907 – Berwick-upon-Tweed, April 25, 1995) was a Canadian actor and writer, primarily active in American and British cinema. His career is inextricably linked to his role as U.S. President Woodrow Wilson in the biographical film *Wilson* (1944), for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor and won the Golden Globe Award. A versatile actor with an authoritative presence, he appeared in numerous notable films, often in supporting roles, including *The Sea Wolf* (1941), *The Vikings* (1958), *The Longest Day* (1962), *Accident* (1967), and *Nicholas and Alexandra* (1971).
