**Alexandru Potocean** (born 1984) is a Romanian actor and one of the most recognizable faces of his country's New Wave cinema. He has gained international acclaim for his ability to portray ordinary, complex characters, often grappling with the challenges of post-communist society or moral dilemmas.

His most notable performances include roles in award-winning films such as Cristi Puiu's *The Death of Mr. Lazarescu* (2005), in which he plays a young paramedic, and Cristian Mungiu's *4 Months, 3 Weeks, 2 Days* (2007), winner of the Palme d'Or at Cannes.
