
Alina Berzunțeanu
Alina Berzunțeanu is a Romanian film and theatre actress, born in Iași on November 17, 1974. A graduate of the National University of Theatre and Film in Bucharest, she is considered one of the leading figures of the Romanian New Wave. She gained international recognition for her roles in critically acclaimed films, including Cristian Mungiu's *4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days* (2007), which won the Palme d'Or at Cannes. Her breakthrough came with the leading role in *Quod Erat Demonstrandum (Q.E.D.)* (2013), for which she won the Gopo Award for Best Actress, Romania's most prestigious film award. Her filmography also includes titles such as *Metronom* (2022) and *Unidentified* (2020). In addition to her work on the big screen, Berzunțeanu is an acclaimed stage actress, active on Romania's major stages. Her career is distinguished by the intensity of her performances and her contribution to auteur cinema.
