Amy Irving is an American actress of film, television, and theater. She achieved international prominence in 1976 with her role as Sue Snell in the horror film *Carrie*, directed by Brian De Palma, with whom she also worked on *The Fury* (1978). Her career received significant recognition with an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the film *Yentl* (1983), directed by and starring Barbra Streisand. Another successful role was in the romantic comedy *Crossing Delancey* (1988), which earned her a Golden Globe nomination. Her filmography also includes titles such as *Traffic* (2000), and she provided the singing voice for the character of Jessica Rabbit in *Who Framed Roger Rabbit* (1988). Also very active in theater, she received a Tony Award nomination for *Heartbreak House* and won an Obie Award for her performance in *The Road to Mecca*.
