An Min-young is a South Korean writer, considered one of the most significant emerging voices in her country's contemporary literature. She gained recognition with her debut novel, *The Illustrated Book of Amphibians and Reptiles* (*Yangseoryuwa pachungryuui dogam*), published in 2020. The work, acclaimed for its originality and subtle humor, explores themes such as loneliness, friendship, and the difficulty of communication through the story of two eccentric characters who work in a natural history museum. For this novel, An Min-young received the prestigious Munhakdongne Novel Award, one of the most important literary awards in South Korea, which immediately solidified her reputation.
