András Kozák (Vencsellő, February 23, 1943 – Budapest, February 24, 2005) was a Hungarian actor and a prominent figure in his country's cinema and theatre. His career is inextricably linked to his collaboration with director Miklós Jancsó, for whom he became a fetish actor and the iconic face of his allegorical and stylized cinema. His most celebrated performances for Jancsó include the leading roles in films such as *The Round-Up* (1966), *The Red and the White* (1967), *Winter Wind* (1969), and *Electra, My Love* (1974). He also worked with other important directors, including István Szabó in *Apa* (1966). Alongside his extensive film career, Kozák was an acclaimed theatre actor, also serving as the director of the Csokonai Theatre in Debrecen. For his significant contribution to Hungarian culture, he received the country's highest national honors, including the Mari Jászai Prize in 1971 and the prestigious Kossuth Prize in 1996.
