Angela Paton (Brooklyn, January 11, 1930 – Oakland, May 26, 2016) was an American film, television, and theater actress. She began her professional career on the stage, co-founding The Berkeley Stage Company in San Francisco, where she worked for many years as an actress and director before transitioning to film later in life. She achieved international recognition for her portrayal of Mrs. Lancaster, the sweet and affable landlady in the cult film *Groundhog Day* (1993). As a respected character actress, she appeared in over 90 film and television productions, including *The Wedding Singer* (1998) and *American Wedding* (2003), and in series such as *Falcon Crest* and *ER*. For her contribution to the film industry, she was a voting member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Her career was an example of late-blooming success, defined by memorable supporting roles and a strong stage presence.
