
Angeliki Papoulia
Angeliki Papoulia is a Greek actress and a leading figure of the "Greek Weird Wave," the new wave of Greek cinema. She is internationally known primarily for her intense collaborations with director Yorgos Lanthimos, for whom she has played memorable roles in acclaimed films such as *Dogtooth* (Kynodontas, 2009), *Alps* (Alpeis, 2011), and *The Lobster* (2015). For her performance in *Dogtooth*, she won the Best Actress award at the Sarajevo Film Festival. Her film career also includes other significant works such as *A Blast* (2014) and *The Miracle of the Sargasso Sea* (2019), solidifying her reputation for complex and physically demanding roles. In addition to film, she is highly active in theatre as a co-founder of the blitz theatre group, with which she has created and staged numerous internationally successful productions. Throughout her career, she has received several awards and nominations from the Hellenic Film Academy.
