Anna Malberg
Anna Malberg, née Hansen (Aarhus, 20 September 1872 – Copenhagen, 3 November 1947), was a Danish actress. An established stage performer, she was a prominent figure at the Aarhus Theatre and later at the Dagmar Theatre in Copenhagen. Her film career is inextricably linked to silent cinema, particularly to her role as Ida, the housekeeper, in Carl Theodor Dreyer's masterpiece *Master of the House* (*Du skal ære din hustru*, 1925). Her performance, internationally acclaimed for its depth and realism, became a model of naturalistic acting. Although she appeared in a limited number of films, her impact was significant. Towards the end of her career, in 1946, she received the prestigious Bodil Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film *De røde enge* (*The Red Meadows*). Considered one of the most important actresses of early Danish cinema, her contribution remains a benchmark for the art of acting of the period.
