
Anna Nakagawa
Anna Nakagawa, stage name of Anna Kuriyama (1965-2014), was a Japanese actress. She made her film debut in the 1988 film *Tonkō* (The Silk Road), a role that immediately earned her the Newcomer of the Year award at the Japan Academy Film Prize. In the same year, her acclaimed performance in the drama film *Hana no ran* (A Chaos of Flowers) won her the Best Supporting Actress awards at both the Japan Academy Film Prize and the prestigious Blue Ribbon Awards, solidifying her status as an emerging talent. Internationally, she is primarily known for her role as Emmy Kano in the 1991 science fiction film *Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah*, one of the most popular installments in the franchise's Heisei series. Her career also continued successfully in television and theater, where she demonstrated her acting versatility until her untimely death.
