Anna Proclemer

Anna Proclemer (Trento, 1923 – Rome, 2013) was one of the most important and influential Italian theatre actresses of the 20th century. Her career is inextricably linked to her long artistic and romantic partnership with Giorgio Albertazzi, with whom she formed one of the most celebrated couples on the Italian stage. Together they brought to the stage a vast repertoire ranging from classics, such as Shakespeare and Pirandello, to modern authors like D'Annunzio, distinguishing themselves with their modern interpretations and a magnetic stage presence. Also active in cinema, she worked with directors such as Francesco Rosi in *Illustrious Corpses*, but it was above all her unmistakable voice that made her famous in dubbing, particularly as the voice of Anne Bancroft in *The Graduate*. Her work in celebrated television dramas was also significant. Throughout her career, she received numerous awards, including the Nastro d'Argento and the Premio Ubu, a testament to her exceptional artistic contribution.
