
Annie Potts
Annie Potts, born October 28, 1952, is an American actress whose career spans film, television, and voice acting. She gained her first major recognition for her performance in *Corvette Summer* (1978), which earned her a Golden Globe nomination. She became internationally known for her role as the witty secretary Janine Melnitz in the *Ghostbusters* franchise (beginning in 1984) and for her part as Iona in *Pretty in Pink* (1986). On television, she solidified her fame with the character of Mary Jo Shively in the popular sitcom *Designing Women* (1986–1993), for which she received an Emmy nomination. She is also the original voice of Bo Peep in the *Toy Story* animated film franchise. In more recent years, she has achieved great success in the role of Connie "Meemaw" Tucker on the series *Young Sheldon*. Her versatility has earned her accolades such as the Genie Award for *Heartaches* (1981) and further nominations for her work on series such as *Love & War* and *Any Day Now*.
