Anthony Quinn, born Antonio Rodolfo Quinn Oaxaca, was a Mexican-born American actor and artist, renowned for his imposing screen presence and his ability to portray characters of various ethnicities. His film career was marked by two Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actor: the first in 1953 for his performance in *Viva Zapata!* and the second in 1957 for his role as the painter Paul Gauguin in *Lust for Life*. Although he did not win, his most iconic performance is perhaps his role in *Zorba the Greek* (1964), which earned him a nomination for Best Actor. His other memorable works include internationally acclaimed films such as Federico Fellini's *La Strada*, *Lawrence of Arabia*, *The Guns of Navarone*, and *Barabbas*. For his outstanding contribution to the world of entertainment, he received numerous lifetime achievement awards, including the Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille Award in 1987.
