Anthony Ray
Anthony Ray (Seattle, August 12, 1963), known professionally as Sir Mix-a-Lot, is an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer. As the co-founder of the independent record label Nastymix Records, he achieved early success in the late 1980s with songs such as "Posse on Broadway" and "Iron Man," which helped define the Pacific Northwest hip hop scene. He achieved international fame in 1992 with the single "Baby Got Back," from his album *Mack Daddy*. The song, celebrated for its humorous lyrics and its praise of curvaceous female figures, reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and earned him a Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance in 1993. Although his subsequent work did not replicate the same commercial success, Ray is recognized for his entrepreneurial spirit and for creating one of the most iconic and culturally significant songs of 1990s pop music.
