
Antonio Banderas
José Antonio Domínguez Bandera, known as Antonio Banderas (Málaga, August 10, 1960), is a Spanish actor, director, and film producer. His career took off in the 1980s thanks to his artistic collaboration with director Pedro Almodóvar, who directed him in cult films such as *Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown* (1988) and *Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!* (1989). In the 1990s, he established himself in Hollywood, becoming an international star with roles in successful productions such as *Philadelphia* (1993), *Interview with the Vampire* (1994), *Desperado* (1995), and *The Mask of Zorro* (1998). He is also known for voicing the character of Puss in Boots in the *Shrek* franchise. His acclaimed performance in the film *Pain and Glory* (2019), also directed by Almodóvar, earned him the Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival, the Goya Award, and his first Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.
