
Ayesha Dharker
Ayesha Dharker, born in Mumbai on March 16, 1977, is a British actress of Indian descent. She gained international recognition for her leading role in the 1998 film *The Terrorist*, directed by Santosh Sivan. For this performance, she won the award for Best Artistic Contribution by an Actress at the Cairo International Film Festival. Her career includes roles in major international productions, such as Queen Jamillia in *Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones* (2002) and in the film *The Mistress of Spices* (2005). In theatre, she is known for playing the role of Rani in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical *Bombay Dreams*, both in London's West End and on Broadway. Dharker has also appeared in numerous popular British television series, including *Coronation Street* and *Doctor Who*, demonstrating notable versatility across film, theatre, and television.
