
Bellamine Abdelmalek
Bellamine Abdelmalek, a Moroccan architect and urban planner born in 1957, is a key figure in Morocco's contemporary urban development. Trained at the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Paris-Belleville, his career is inextricably linked to the transformation of Casablanca, where he directed the Agence Urbaine for many years. Under his leadership, large-scale strategic projects that have reshaped the metropolis were conceived and implemented, including the planning of the Casablanca Marina, the development of the new Casa-Anfa urban hub on the site of the former airport, and the innovative Zenata eco-city project. His work is characterized by an approach that aims to integrate modernity, environmental sustainability, and social development. For his significant impact on territorial planning, he was awarded the Wissam Al Arch (Order of the Throne) by King Mohammed VI, one of the highest honors of the Kingdom of Morocco, in recognition of his fundamental contribution to the country's modernization.
