
Benjamin Millepied
Benjamin Millepied is a French dancer, choreographer, and director. Trained at the School of American Ballet, he joined the New York City Ballet in 1995, where he was promoted to principal dancer in 2002, performing leading roles in the repertoire. At the same time, he began a prolific career as a choreographer, creating works for the world's most prestigious companies, including the Paris Opera Ballet, the American Ballet Theatre, and the Mariinsky Ballet. He achieved international fame in 2010 for his choreography in the film *Black Swan*. In 2012, he founded the company L.A. Dance Project, where he serves as artistic director. From 2014 to 2016, he held the position of Director of the Paris Opera Ballet. He made his feature film directorial debut with *Carmen* (2022). His numerous awards include the Prix de Lausanne (1994) and the title of Chevalier in the Order of Arts and Letters from the French government.
