
Betty Buckley
Betty Buckley is an American actress and singer, known for her versatile career spanning stage, film, and television. She achieved international fame on Broadway portraying Grizabella in the original 1982 production of *Cats*, a role that earned her the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical and for which her rendition of the song "Memory" is celebrated. Her stage career also includes leading roles in successful productions such as *Sunset Boulevard* and the national tour of *Hello, Dolly!*. On the big screen, she is remembered for the role of the teacher Miss Collins in the horror film *Carrie* (1976) and for her appearances in *Tender Mercies* (1983) and *Split* (2016). On television, she gained wide popularity with the series *Eight Is Enough*. In addition to her prolific work as a concert artist with numerous albums to her credit, in 2012 she was inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame in recognition of her lasting artistic contributions.
