Biagio Barone, born in Modica, is an Italian actor, playwright, and director, a leading figure in contemporary Sicilian theater. His career is inextricably linked to his native land and to civic storytelling, developed through his company Teatro Utopia. He is particularly known for his landmark adaptation and performance of the monologue from Leonardo Sciascia's *Il giorno della civetta* (The Day of the Owl), a show he has been staging for decades to continuous critical and public acclaim. His theatrical work explores the adaptation of literary texts and original playwriting, often focusing on social issues and memory. In addition to the stage, he has worked in film and television, taking part in notable productions such as the series *Inspector Montalbano* and Roberto Andò's film *La stranezza* (Strangeness, 2022).
