Bill Paterson is a Scottish actor, born in Glasgow in 1945. His career, which began in theatre in the 1970s as a co-founder of the 7:84 theatre company, has successfully developed across film, television, and radio, making him one of the most recognisable and versatile faces in the United Kingdom. His best-known films include *The Killing Fields* (1984), *The Adventures of Baron Munchausen* (1988), and *Miss Potter* (2006). In television, he gained great popularity for his role as the protagonist's father in the hit series *Fleabag* and has appeared in international productions such as *Outlander* and *House of the Dragon*. His long and acclaimed stage career earned him a Laurence Olivier Award nomination for his performance in *Schweik in the Second World War* at the National Theatre.
