William "Billy" Halop (1920-1976) was an American actor, best known as an original member of the "Dead End Kids." His career was launched on Broadway in the play *Dead End* (1935), in which he portrayed the role of gang leader Tommy Gordon. He reprised the same character to great success in the 1937 film adaptation, which led to a long series of films featuring the same group of actors, who became known by various names including The Little Tough Guys and The East Side Kids. Notable films from this period include *Angels with Dirty Faces* (1938) and *They Made Me a Criminal* (1939). After serving in World War II, his career declined, but he found renewed success later in life as a character actor on television, landing his most famous role as cab driver Bert Munson in the sitcom *All in the Family*. For his contribution to the motion picture industry, he was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
