Billy Kent Schaefer
Billy Kent Schaefer, born November 10, 1961, is an American former professional baseball catcher. His Major League Baseball (MLB) career spanned from 1987 to 2001, primarily playing for the Oakland Athletics and the Milwaukee Brewers. He was a member of the Athletics team that won the 1989 World Series and contributed to their winning three consecutive American League pennants from 1988 to 1990. Known for his notable defensive skills and his ability to handle pitchers, Schaefer was a reliable backup catcher for much of his career. Over the years, he also played for other teams, including the California Angels, the Kansas City Royals, and the St. Louis Cardinals. After retiring as a player, he pursued a career as a coach and manager in the minor leagues, using his experience to develop new talent.
