William George Zane Jr., known as Billy Zane, is an American actor and producer born in Chicago on February 24, 1966. He made his debut in 1985 in the film *Back to the Future* and landed his first prominent role in the thriller *Dead Calm* (1989), alongside Nicole Kidman. His international fame soared with his portrayal of the antagonist Caledon "Cal" Hockley in James Cameron's blockbuster *Titanic* (1997). For this performance, he received a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination along with the rest of the cast and won a Blockbuster Entertainment Award for Best Supporting Actor. His other significant works include the title role in the superhero film *The Phantom* (1996) and a role in the television series *Twin Peaks*.
