Biman Mouafi, an Italian-Egyptian director and screenwriter born in Cairo in 1989, is one of the most significant voices in contemporary documentary filmmaking in Italy. He gained national recognition with the documentary film *Ero straniero - La vera storia di Amen* (2020), an intimate and powerful work that tells a story of redemption and belonging. For this work, he won the prestigious David di Donatello award for Best Documentary, in addition to receiving numerous other accolades at various film festivals.
