Biman Mouafi
Biman Mouafi, an Italian-Egyptian director and screenwriter born in Cairo in 1989, is one of the most significant voices in contemporary documentary filmmaking in Italy. His work sensitively explores themes such as identity, integration, and the condition of second-generation immigrants. He gained national recognition with the documentary film *Ero straniero - La vera storia di Amen* (2020), an intimate and powerful work that tells a story of redemption and belonging. For this work, he won the prestigious David di Donatello award for Best Documentary, in addition to receiving numerous other accolades at various film festivals. His style is characterized by a personal approach that combines biographical narrative with social reflection, drawing universal stories from individual experiences. Prior to this success, he had already directed several critically acclaimed short films, solidifying his auteurial voice.
