
Birgitta Valberg
Birgitta Valberg (1916-2014) was a Swedish actress and a leading figure in the nation's theatre and cinema. Her career is inextricably linked to the Royal Dramatic Theatre (Dramaten) in Stockholm, where she worked for over sixty years, playing more than 130 roles and becoming one of its mainstays. On the big screen, she is known for her collaborations with director Ingmar Bergman in films such as *Smiles of a Summer Night* (1955), *The Virgin Spring* (1960), and *Shame* (1968). She also worked with other notable directors, including Alf Sjöberg. Furthermore, she was the Swedish voice of the Evil Queen in the Disney classic *Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs*. Throughout her long career, she received numerous accolades, including the prestigious O'Neill Award in 1970 and the Guldbagge Award for Best Actress in 1977 for her performance in the film *Paradise Place*.
