Björn Bjelfvenstam
Björn Bjelfvenstam, born in Uppsala on December 7, 1929, is a Swedish actor and television executive. Trained at the prestigious Royal Dramatic Theatre school in Stockholm, he became internationally known primarily for his collaborations with director Ingmar Bergman in the 1950s. He played significant roles in films considered masterpieces of European cinema, including Henrik Egerman in *Smiles of a Summer Night* (1955) and Viktor in *Wild Strawberries* (1957). He also appeared in other Bergman films, such as *Secrets of Women* (1952). Although he continued to act sporadically, his later career shifted behind the scenes. He worked for many years as a producer and executive for the Swedish public television broadcaster, Sveriges Television (SVT), contributing to the development of numerous programs. His recognition is inextricably linked to his contribution to Bergman's cinema, often embodying young, sensitive, and tormented characters that reflected the director's complex themes.
