Bobby Barber

Robert S. "Bobby" Barber (1894–1976) was a prolific American character actor, active from the silent era until the late 1960s. Known for his short stature, bulging eyes, and thick mustache, he specialized in brief, often uncredited comedic roles, becoming one of the most familiar faces of Hollywood slapstick comedy. His career is inextricably linked to the short films of The Three Stooges, in which he appeared in dozens of different roles, solidifying his image as a recurring victim of their gags. He was also a constant presence in the films of Abbott and Costello and worked in minor parts alongside other comedy legends such as Laurel and Hardy, W.C. Fields, and Bob Hope. Although the nature of his work did not bring him any formal awards, his primary recognition is his status as an iconic figure and a staple of the golden age of American film comedy, with hundreds of appearances that have made him an instantly recognizable actor to generations of viewers.
