Boris Nikolaevich Livanov (1904-1972) was a Soviet theater and film actor and director, considered one of the most important figures of his generation. A student of Konstantin Stanislavsky, in 1924 he joined the company of the Moscow Art Theatre, where he worked throughout his career, distinguishing himself for the psychological depth of his performances in works by Gorky, Chekhov, and Dostoevsky. His fame also grew considerably through cinema, where he played leading roles in highly successful films such as *Baltic Deputy* (1936), as Professor Polezhaev, and *Minin and Pozharsky* (1939). As a director, he staged several successful theater productions. For his outstanding artistic contribution, he was awarded the highest honors, including the title of People's Artist of the USSR in 1948 and numerous Stalin Prizes, consolidating his status as an icon of Soviet theater and cinema.
