Brian Glover was a British actor, writer, and professional wrestler, known for his imposing presence and his distinctive Yorkshire accent. Born in Sheffield, he began his career as a wrestler under the ring name "Leon Arras" and also worked as a teacher before making his film debut. His breakthrough came in 1969 with the iconic role of the PE teacher, Mr. Sugden, in Ken Loach's film "Kes". From that point on, he became a prolific character actor, appearing in successful films such as "An American Werewolf in London" (1981), where he plays a pub patron, "Brannigan" (1975) alongside John Wayne, and "Alien³" (1992) as Director Andrews. Also active in television, he was an acclaimed playwright and lent his voice to popular advertising campaigns, such as the one for Tetley Tea in the UK, which made him a familiar figure to the British public.
