Brooks Hyers
Brooks Hyers is an American creative director and advertising copywriter, best known as the creator of the celebrated "Whassup?" advertising campaign for the beer brand Budweiser. Launched in 1999 while he was working at the DDB agency in Chicago, the campaign quickly became a global cultural phenomenon, based on a short film titled "True" by Charles Stone III. For this work, Hyers and his team won the industry's most prestigious awards, including the prestigious Grand Prix at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in 2000. The campaign is considered a milestone in the history of advertising for its impact and virality, well before the social media era. Throughout his career, Hyers has continued to develop creative strategies for other major international brands, solidifying his reputation as a leading figure in the advertising industry.
