Bruce Lester (born Bruce Lister; Johannesburg, June 6, 1912 – Los Angeles, June 13, 2008) was a South African-born British actor. He began his career in British cinema during the 1930s before moving to Hollywood, where he achieved his greatest success. His most celebrated and recognized roles were in 1940, when he played Mr. Bingley in the adaptation of *Pride and Prejudice* and the murder victim Hammond in the film noir classic *The Letter*, alongside Bette Davis. His career was interrupted by military service during World War II. Upon his return, he continued to act in supporting roles in films such as *If I Were King* (1938) and *A Royal Scandal* (1945), but he gradually moved behind the scenes. In the 1950s, he became an established production manager for the CBS television network, working on numerous projects until his retirement from the entertainment industry.
