Carmen Santos, born in Valencia in 1958, is a Spanish writer known primarily for her historical novels. After working for years as a teacher, she made her fiction debut with *La cara oculta de la luna* (2003). Her literary work is characterized by a blend of historical fiction, family saga, and adventure, with a particular focus on strong and determined female characters. Among her most celebrated works are *El sueño de las Antillas* (2012), *La luna de las Tres Marías* (2015), and especially *Un hotel en ninguna parte*, the novel with which she won the prestigious Premio de Novela Ateneo de Sevilla in 2013.
