Cathia Caro

Cathia Caro, the stage name of Catherine Valérie de la Héraudière (Poitiers, December 17, 1943), is a French actress whose career was primarily concentrated in the late 1950s and early 1960s. She achieved prominence at a young age, becoming a well-known face in European cinema with a significant presence in Italian productions. Among her most celebrated performances are roles in important *commedia all'italiana* films such as Steno's *Mio figlio Nerone* (1956), alongside Alberto Sordi and Vittorio De Sica, and Wolfgang Staudte's *Pezzo, capopezzo e capitano* (1958). In France, she worked with directors of the caliber of René Clair in *Le grandi manovre* (1955). Considered one of the promising young actresses of her era, her filmography also includes titles like *La prima notte* (1959) and *Un soir sur la plage* (1961). Despite her success, her career was intense but brief: after making about twenty films, she retired from the screen in the mid-1960s, permanently leaving her film career.
