Cecil Kellaway (1893-1973) was a South African-born, naturalized American actor whose career developed primarily in Hollywood after an early start in Australian cinema. A well-known and versatile character actor, he played a wide range of supporting roles in numerous successful productions. His skill earned him two Academy Award nominations for Best Supporting Actor: the first for the film *The Luck of the Irish* (1948) and the second for his final film appearance in *Guess Who's Coming to Dinner* (1967), as Monsignor Ryan.
