Charles Bracy is an American computer scientist and entrepreneur, primarily known as the co-founder of Silicon Graphics, Inc. (SGI). His career is closely tied to the development of the MIPS microprocessor at Stanford University, a technology that became the core of SGI workstations. In 1982, along with Jim Clark, he founded the company that revolutionized the market for high-performance graphics workstations. The machines produced by SGI were instrumental in the development of digital visual effects for cinema, contributing to iconic films such as *Jurassic Park* and *Terminator 2*. They also found applications in scientific visualization and engineering design. For his pioneering role, Bracy has received major awards, including the Computer Graphics Achievement Award from ACM SIGGRAPH in 1995.
