
Chete Lera
Chete Lera, the stage name of Ramón Lera, was a Spanish actor (A Estrada, 1949 – Rincón de la Victoria, 2022). He began his artistic career relatively late in life, after working as an engineer and a pilot. His work was primarily in theater and film, where he established himself as one of the most solid and versatile character actors. On the big screen, he collaborated with prominent Spanish directors, appearing in successful films such as Julio Medem's *La ardilla roja* (1993), Fernando León de Aranoa's *Familia* (1996), Alejandro Amenábar's *Abre los ojos* (1997), and Icíar Bollaín's *Flores de otro mundo* (1999). In theater, he was a frequent performer in the productions of the Centro Dramático Nacional. For his performance in *Familia*, he received a Goya Award nomination for Best New Actor. In 2002, he was part of the cast of the film *Smoking Room*, which collectively received the Best Actor award at the Málaga Film Festival. He also won several awards for his theater work, including the Mestre Mateo Award.
