
Christian Lude
Christian Lude, stage name of Christian Louis Ducasse (Paris, 6 January 1913 – Fleury-Mérogis, 15 September 1978), was a French actor. Active primarily between the 1940s and 1970s, he established himself as one of the most prolific and recognizable character actors in French cinema and theatre. His career spanned from the big screen to television, as well as voice acting.
In film, he played over one hundred roles, working with leading directors such as Sacha Guitry (in *Si Versailles m'était conté...*), Claude Autant-Lara (*Le Diable au corps*), and Jean-Pierre Mocky (*Un drôle de paroissien*, *Les Vierges*). His face and precise diction made him a constant presence in comedies, dramas, and historical films.
In theatre, his most significant recognition was his admission as a member of the prestigious Comédie-Française, a testament to his talent and stature in the country's artistic landscape. Although he did not receive major film awards, his extensive filmography and his status as a respected actor solidified his fame.
