
Christopher Guest
Christopher Haden-Guest, 5th Baron Haden-Guest, is an American-British director, screenwriter, actor, and musician, and a pioneer of the film genre known as "mockumentary." His career had a breakthrough with the cult film *This Is Spinal Tap* (1984), which he co-wrote and starred in as guitarist Nigel Tufnel. Subsequently, he directed a series of acclaimed ensemble comedies based on improvisation, including *Waiting for Guffman* (1996), *Best in Show* (2000), *A Mighty Wind* (2003), and *For Your Consideration* (2006). These films are characterized by a recurring cast of actors, such as Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara, and a satirical exploration of subcultures and eccentric characters. As an actor, he is also known for his role as Count Rugen in *The Princess Bride* (1987). Throughout his career, he has received numerous accolades, including a Grammy Award for Best Song Written for a Film for *A Mighty Wind* and an Emmy Award.
