
Claire Skinner
Claire Skinner (born 1965) is a British actress known for her versatility in theatre, film, and television. Trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), she began her career on stage, where her work earned her prestigious accolades, including a Critics' Circle Theatre Award and a Laurence Olivier Award nomination for her performance in *The Glass Menagerie*. In film, she is known for her collaborations with director Mike Leigh on the films *Life Is Sweet* (1990) and *Naked* (1993), and has had roles in productions such as *Bridget Jones's Diary* and *Sleepy Hollow*. However, her best-known role is that of Sue Brockman in the BBC sitcom *Outnumbered* (2007–2014), for which she received a BAFTA TV Award nomination for Best Comedy Performance. Her other television credits include appearances in successful series such as *Doctor Who*, *Sense and Sensibility* (2008), and, more recently, *McDonald & Dodds*.
