Claude Piéplu (Paris, 9 May 1923 – Paris, 24 May 2006) was a French actor, celebrated for his unmistakable, nasal, and monotone voice. He began his career in the theatre, working with prominent directors such as Jean Vilar and Jean-Louis Barrault. In cinema, he established himself as a prolific and versatile character actor, appearing in over one hundred and fifty films. He is known for his collaborations with Luis Buñuel in works such as *The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie* (1972) and *The Phantom of Liberty* (1974), as well as for memorable roles in highly successful comedies, including *The Mad Adventures of Rabbi Jacob* (1973) and the *Gendarme of Saint-Tropez* series. His voice is inextricably linked to the cult animated series *Les Shadoks*, for which he was the iconic narrator. His long and acclaimed career earned him a César Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for the film *Le Sucre* (1978), consolidating his status in the French cultural landscape.
